Solutions

AEEC utilizes its core areas of expertise to develop innovative solutions to your problems.

System Optimization

AEEC encourages innovative thinking, challenging thought processes, and commitment to system optimization. Value originates from AEEC's strong Design and O&M teams working together to find optimal solutions to increase system performance. System optimization has included information management, wastewater treatment, pump and treat, and monitoring systems. AEEC optimization has resulted in lower costs and increased performance.

Closure

AEEC operates to attain closure. AEEC is aggressive and innovative in its approach to remediation. The Design and O&M groups function together to work towards closure, the ultimate purpose of a remediation system. Remediation solutions have included simple and complex designs that effectively isolate and remove contamination. AEEC continuously evaluates the progress of remediation systems to consistently meet performance requirements, reduce costs, expedite the remediation progress, and identify potential modifications and augmentations.

Remediation

AEEC professionals have designed, evaluated, and implemented numerous remediation systems. Innovative in-situ remediation approaches have included pump and treat, soil vapor extraction, dual phase extraction, air sparging, free product recovery, in-site chemical oxidation, passive reactor barriers, interception trenches, bioventing, and phytoremediation.

Modeling

AEEC applies a wide array of modeling tools to effectively model site conditions based on the conceptual model. Modeling experience includes finite differences, finite element, 2-D, 3-D, multiphase, vadose zone concentrations, biodegradation, transport, fate, and animation. Conceptual models are applied by integration into the underlying grid system. Model output is calibrated to determine inefficiencies of a monitoring network or uncertainties. Model output also serves as the basis for generating graphic representations of site conditions.

GIS/Mapping

AEEC considers mapping a powerful and key component for developing an understanding of a computer generated model. The graphic illustration must convey information in a clear, concise manner that allows for decision-making and knowledge development. AEEC utilizes static, dynamic, 2-D, and 3-D graphical representations as well as aerial photography, ArcView, ArcEditor, AutoCAD, MicroStation, and The Visualization Toolkit.

SPCC Plans

AEEC professionals have developed and updated SPCC plans in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations for government and private clients in the following states: OR, UT, WY, CA, ID, WA, MT, CO, ND, and SD. We have the experience and capabilities to concurrently develop SPCC plans for various sites in multiple states.

Sampling

AEEC has extensive field sampling experience following EPA protocol and standards. Sampling is performed by certified field technicians. AEEC has applied innovative sampling technologies including micropurging and passive diffusion. AEEC has conducted sampling of both primary and secondary aquifers. To facilitate sampling, AEEC possess a fully equipped sampling truck. AEEC has experience performing sampling of various media under all types of environmental conditions. Sampling has been performed in a number of states.

Public Information

AEEC has experience in assessing and providing information to the public. This experience includes not only receiving, analyzing, categorizing, and summarizing comments from the public, but also providing information for public and federal agency review. AEEC is constantly striving to implement innovative ideas to expedite the process of public comment analysis and response.
