AEEC is currently seeking a Top Secret Cleared Cyber Security Specialist to support our prime Federal contract.  This is a full time position that is projected to run through 2027.  The primary work location will be AEEC’s office in Alexandria, VA, with the possibility for remote work.  Some local travel to DC for customer meetings will be required.  Some periodic travel may be required to other government facilities in New York and Kansas, but this should be rare.

Job Description:

Our Federal customer is building a new facility and we are seeking to expand our existing IT Team, which is developing the Information Technology Architecture at this facility.  These IT Systems will become the backbone that will directly support state-of-the-art laboratory operations and will accommodate Research, Development, Test and Evaluation programs operating at this facility for the next half-century.  It is important that critical support is provided for the development of requirements to provide a technology platform that integrates lab functions to support quality control, enhance bio-risk management, and minimizes potential for human error, and allows data sharing, documentation and transparency within a cyber-secure environment.  The systems architecture shall integrate the diverse requirements and support/accommodate a number of different user types, software platforms, and software applications.  The facility’s intranet will be designed to comply with existing requirements from ARS, APHIS, and S&T, while still allowing these users to work collaboratively in the same systems and software.

In this role, you will be responsible for secure system engineering and development, including system/security requirements analysis, secure system definition, and specification development of information security policies and procedures utilizing technical and analytical skills.  Typical focus areas for this role include analytical and engineering solutions based on federal and industry information security policy, doctrine, and regulations.

In addition, you will:

  • Support the development of technical solutions to support the client’s requirements in solving moderately complex network, platform, and system security problems
  • Design test beds for advanced information security hardware and software solutions
